A Monster Uncovered
In South Africa, married Danish journalists Helle Maj and Jørn Stjerneklar are contacted by 63-year-old arms dealer Peter Frederiksen, who spins a bizarre narrative. But when Frederiksen is arrested, the couple is recruited to dive deeper into the case, unraveling a decades-long global crime spree rife with accusations of murder, sexual assault, and forced female genital mutilation. Now, more than a decade later, Helle and Jørn reflect on the case that nearly broke them – and the life of a criminal so depraved that even his memory sparks fear in the hearts of those who knew him. Drawing on eye-witness testimony and reenactments of entries from Frederiksen's own diaries, A Monster Uncovered probes the mind of a killer while attempting to bring closure to the victims left in his wake.
