Liuben

Set in a Bulgarian mountain village where prejudice simmers, this poetic film from director Venci Kostov follows the summer romance that develops between Victor and Liuben, two young men who come from the same world, but have very different experiences. Credited as the first openly gay film from Bulgaria, ‘Liuben’ tells a heartfelt story of two lovers condemned to be strangers in their own land.
