The Dark Money Game

The Dark Money Game

Directed by Academy Award® winner Alex Gibney (HBO's WISE GUY David Chase and The Sopranos and The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley), The Dark Money Game investigates the shadowy world of political donations and fundraising 15 years after the Supreme Court's Citizens United decision – which enabled unlimited spending by hidden sources on many political campaigns. Featuring interviews with journalists, lawmakers, judges, FBI investigators, and whistleblowers, the two feature films – "Ohio Confidential" and "Wealth of the Wicked" – reveal how an untraceable web of money from corporations and billionaires flows through non-profits and super-PACS to support candidates and political movements. At a time when 90% of elections are won by who spends the most, Gibney examines the ethics of unchecked financing – following the money to reveal the partisan organizations, corporations, and individuals inside and outside government who benefit.
