The Herricanes

The Houston Herricanes played in the first women's professional tackle football league in the 1970s. These determined athletes took to the gridiron despite adversity and hardship and their unknown story is one of courage, strength, and grit. Female participation in sports has grown exponentially since the passage of Title IX, but football remains the final frontier for women in sports.
