The McMasters
The civil was has just come to an agonising end and Benjie (Brock Peters) returns to his hometown of Ironside. The fact that he is a man of black skin man wearing a Union Army uniform does not register well with the people of the little South Western town who sympathised with the Confederate forces. Ranch-owner Neal McMasters (Burl Ives) is at least happy to see him.
