The Super 8 Years

Nobel laureate Annie Ernaux, along with her son David, has drawn together footage shot by her ex-husband Philippe between 1972 and 1981. A detailed account of domestic family life, at home and abroad, it also documents the period Ernaux first became a published author. As a result, the film becomes a moving record of a marriage in decline, as well as the blossoming of her writing career.
